YOUR ROLE

Senior Civil Engineer is a role that manages complex engineering projects across multiple disciplines.  This team member works closely with municipal leaders to provide engineering solutions in all municipal aspects involving Municipal Infrastructure; Land and Site Development Projects; Grading Projects; Water Distribution Systems; Sanitary Sewer Systems; Storm Sewer Systems; Roadway Improvements; Sidewalks & Shared-Use Paths; Small Pumping Facilities; Water and Wastewater Treatment Facilities.

SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEER

 

Develop and foster client relationships in support of business development to secure new project opportunities.

Consult with clients and stakeholders to plan and develop strategies for civil engineering design and support needs.

Manage projects, client and contractor agreements, and budgets.

Work with designers to prepare plans and specifications for projects, providing guidance and technical assistance.

Mentor and guide junior staff and engineers.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

You have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or similar field with North Dakota PE registration (or the ability to obtain registration).

You are building on 8 plus years of successful design and consulting experience within Civil Engineering.

You have strong technical skills and experience using Autodesk Civil 3D, XP-SWMM, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, StormCAD and other related programs.

You have successfully worked in teams and have outstanding listening and communication skills.

You advocate proactively for Civil Engineering field and enjoy sharing knowledge, giving presentations, and encouraging students to explore it as a career.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

You design plans and strategies related to civil engineering for client review and approval.

You oversee and develop project plans and studies.

You analyze reports, maps, drawings, tests and photographs to plan and design projects.

You provide technical advice regarding design, construction, or program modification.

You regularly evaluate designs to determine project feasibility, estimate quantities, and cost of materials, equipment, and labor.

You interface with public agencies on to provide support, permitting, and approval of project needs.

You assist in the inspection of project sites to monitor construction progress and ensure design specifications are met.

You read and interpret construction plans to assist with client management and effectively communicate to answer inquiries from colleagues, clients, contractors, or the public.

You perform pre-design services, such as feasibility or environmental impact studies.

A BIT MORE INFORMATION

This position is located in our Williston office; however occasional travel to other locations and business conferences may be required on an occasional basis.
