YOUR ROLE
Civil Engineer (Land Planning & Development) is a role that manages complex engineering projects across multiple disciplines, working closely with land development leaders to provide engineering solutions in all aspects involving both residential and commercial land and site development projects, grading projects, roadways, pedestrian systems, water and sanitary sewer systems, and storm water management.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage small to mid-size projects, client and contractor agreements and budgets
Write and prepare technical engineering reports, plans and specifications for projects
Consult with clients to plan and develop strategies for their civil engineering design and support needs
Analyze reports, maps, drawings, and tests to plan and design projects
Evaluate designs to determine project feasibility, estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, and labor requirements
Assist with construction inspection of project sites to monitor progress and ensure design specifications are met
Engineering design for site-civil infrastructure elements
Mentor less experienced engineers as needed
You interface with public agencies on to provide support, permitting, and approval of project needs.
You read and interpret construction plans to assist with client management and effectively communicate to answer inquiries from colleagues, clients, contractors, or the public.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
You have a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or similar field with North Dakota PE registration (or the ability to obtain registration).
You are building on 6 plus years of successful design and consulting experience within Civil Engineering, Land Development preferred.
You have strong technical skills and experience using Autodesk Civil 3D, XP-SWMM, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, StormCAD and other related programs.
You have successfully worked in teams and have outstanding listening and communication skills.
You advocate proactively for Civil Engineering field and enjoy sharing knowledge, giving presentations, and encouraging students to explore it as a career.

This position is in our Minot, North Dakota office; however occasional travel to other locations and business conferences may be required on an occasional basis.
